We are excited to be featured in the second issue of Insite magazine’s Art979 issue! Insite has faithfully provided coverage of local issues and events for over 25 years in the Brazos Valley, and now features the twice-yearly Art979 issue in cooperation with Art979.com Interactive. The SEAD Gallery feature is the perfect example of the type of area art coverage you can expect from this fantastic new collaboration.
The article explains the vision behind the SEAD Gallery, and describes our mission to connect Science, Engineering, Art and Design. It introduces some of our key staff members, including Cassidy Barton, gallery director, and Jose and Joan Quintana, president and managing partner of parent company, Advent GX, respectively.
Colorful photography captures the vibrance of our inaugural show “Colorpalooza” by area artist Anguspaul. Also included in the article is a description of the interactive technology developed by Advent GX that allows visitors to experience audio and visual commentary through an image-recognition iPad app. This provides just one example of how science and art can come together in a hip and current way.
We thank Insite for such great coverage of our gallery and for mentioning that Anguspaul “Colorpalooza” ends on Friday February 22 to make way for Scott McDermott “Procrastus Interuptus” opening on March 1. Pretty cool that Scott McDermott also received a full spread in the magazine, giving the Brazos Valley a taste of what’s to come to our corner of Downtown Bryan!
